SSPR Registration - Authenticator App
Select the Authenticator app option.
The Get the app wizard appears.
If you don't want to use the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can click the I want to use a different authenticator app link from the Get the app screen.
Some additional apps that can be used in place of Microsoft Authenticator:
· Google Authenticator
· Lastpass Authenticator
2. After you install the Microsoft Authenticator app or other authenticator app on your mobile device, select Next.
If you're prompted, allow notifications, add a new account, and then select Work or school account.
3. Select Next.
The Scan the QR code screen appears.
4. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app, select Add account from the Customize and control icon in the upper-right, and then select Work or school account.
If using a different authenticator app, these instructions will be slightly different.
5. Scan the provided QR code with the Microsoft Authenticator or other authenticator app.
If you can’t scan the QR code, click the Can’t scan the QR code link and manually enter the code and URL into the Microsoft Authenticator or other authenticator app.
6. Use the Microsoft Authenticator or other authenticator app to approve the notification to activate the app.
Your security info is now updated to use the Microsoft Authenticator or other authenticator app to verify your identity when using self-service password reset.
